Qatar's population has increased dramatically since the 70s, mainly due to immigrants, the majority of whom are men. This has led to a severely skewed gender ratio in the country. As early as the 80s, there were twice as many men as women in Qatar, and at times it was three times as many around 20-2000. Currently, the gender ratio in Qatar is 248,2 Male/100 female.
