The Christian population, according to Pew estimates, was 2.382.750.000 in 2020, representing 31,1% of the world's population.
The Christian population has increased over time along with the increase in the global population. Previously, in 2010, the Christian population was 2.168.330.000. Pew estimates that the Christian population will reach 2.578.790.000 by 2030, 2.756.390.000 by 2040, and 2.918.070.000 by 2050.
Christian Christianity is the religion with the largest number of followers of all religions in the world. Although it is the largest religion in the world and maintains many resources for missionary work, the growth rate of Christianity is only about the same as the world average. According to predictions, by the second half of the 21st century, the population of Islamic will surpass Christianity to become the world's largest religion.
Christians are concentrated mainly in Europe, South America, North America and South Africa.
